GROCERIES AND SUPPLIES |

When planning your trip to Stella Maris, consider bringing a cooler containing frozen
meats, chicken etc. as the selection in Long Island is limited and may not always
be what you are used to. You will find both grocery stores and gas/convenience stores
scattered around the island. The ones we typically visit are listed below with phone
numbers and approximate driving time from the Goombay House. (All are along
Queen's Highway) |
The Shell gas station and convenience store in Bunches, is the closest location
to get a hold of most grocery items, including fresh produce and there is a liquor
store next door. (About 10 minutes south.)
For frozen fish and meats, visit Performance Fisheries in Alligator Bay. (About
20 minutes south.)
For a complete grocery selection, visit Hillside Supplies or Harding Supply in salt
Pond. Both stores are located about 35 minutes south of the Goombay House.
When you stop by these stores, remember to buy drinking water as the water at the
Goombay House is not drinkable.
